It's week 2 of my 4 weeks to lose 5-7lbs so my dress fits awesome time frame. Last week I lost 3.2 lbs!!! Yay me! I felt so good yesterday when I got onto that scale and 163.5 came up. Last week I worked really hard running and making better choices on the things I ate.
Here's what I discovered - I can surprise myself! It's funny because I knew that but I had forgotten it. I have a 1/2 marathon on Feb. 17th and the training program I am following has the long runs on Saturdays. Makes sense since during the week with work it's much harder to get those long runs in. I had fallen off the horse as I have expressed in previous posts the previous few weeks and the longest run I had done was 6 miles back on the Saturday before Christmas. That means I had missed 3 long runs. I'm not really sure where I should have been distance wise this weekend anymore but I debated with myself if I should run, 6 again, maybe 7 or even 8 miles. I finally decided on the 8 miles because I had 4 long runs left (including that one) until my race and I would go 8, 9, 10.5 and 12 miles on those last 4. If I started back with 6 or 7 I would have a hard time building up. I got out there and it wasn't too bad. In fact I was feeling pretty good and ended up going 8.5 miles! I did MapMyRun.com before I left and mapped out my 8 mile trek - actual was a bit further and I just decided to keep going. I was at 8.4 at the "stopping point" and decided I had gone that far I was doing that last 0.10 mile to get to 8.5 miles. I really was proud of myself and even more I surprised myself on how strong I really am. That means now this Saturday is going to be 9.5 miles instead of 9 and I'm debating on 10.5 or 11 for the 2nd and the 9th will stay at 12. :)
Also I was shocked that my fiance this past week was so open to having salads for dinner. We made a salad with some leftover chicken and lots of veggies. Then another night we made a flank steak salad and again with lots of veggies. Both were so good and filling. I just didn't pin him as a guy that would enjoy and even more suggest those options. Granted he is in a "bet" at work on who can lose the most weight. I guess there are 7 guys that all put $50 in and if you lose the most or percentage (I forget which it is) you win it all. Hey if it that that finally gets him motivated than I am all for it. He keeps saying he wants to lose but trying to get him motivated has been a bit of a challenge and I definitely don't want to nag him about it because I don't want him to take it the wrong way. You know how that goes. :)
Well today is back to running for the week. 3 miles - nothing much but I am hoping it will feel good as my legs as still a tad sore from my Saturday evening 8 mile run and it might help flush them out. I'm looking forward to this week even though if you watch biggest loser the 2nd week is the hardest. That's okay so bring it on! :)
